Japan to lack buoyant forces
Article Abstract:
The 1998 Christmas holiday season is expected to slow down the buying activity in stock markets in Asia. In Japan, analysts' predict a shortage in buying forces. Also, stock prices suffered a 2.7% decline due to a fall in US stocks and the net selling of cash issues for the Nikkei futures and options. The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong is still beset with the downturn trend as well as those of Taipei stocks which fell below the 72-day moving average of 6998. However, stocks in Manila, Philippines and Seoul, South Korea remained upbeat in keeping with the holiday spirit.
