PC shipments grow strong
Article Abstract:
The recovery of the Asian economy and the continued drop in prices of personal computers (PCs) contributed to the rise of PC shipments in the Asia-Pacific region. According to a report of the International Data Corp. Asia/Pacific, 3.5 million units were sold for the second quarter of 1999. Other related factors that fueled the growth of PC shipments were increased spending for Y2K-upgrading and free-PC promotions made by Internet service providers in the region.
