Japan's Sanwa Bank to buy stake in Dai-Ichi from LTCB affiliate

Sanwa Bank Ltd. will purchase a 29% share in Dai-Ichi Securities Co. Dai-Ichi is a medium-sized brokerage company that is affiliated with the Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan. Sanwa will purchase up to 67.4 million shares in Dai-Ichi. These shares are controlled by an real estate affiliate with LTCB that filed for a special liquidation in April 1999. The price of the acquisition was not revealed.
