K-Max update
Article Abstract:
Kaman Aerospace has delivered one new K-Max helicopter but also lost another within 24 hours. The delivery was made to Superior Helicopter of Glendale, OR, for c/n 024. Superior Helicopter has been operating c/n 017 since 1996 on logging contracts and wanted to increase its fleet. Meanwhile, Kaman Aerospace lost c/n 022, which was delivered in 1997 to Grizzly Mountain Aviation of Prineville, OR. The aircraft was greatly damaged after crashed and overturned due to a loss of power while traveling over rough terrain.

Glass Balck Hawk flies
Article Abstract:
The acceptance flight trials of a Sikorsky S-70 Black Hawk with a new Rockwell Collins glass cockpit commenced at Sikorsky's plant in Stratford, CT, on Mar 29, 2000. The helicopter is one of the first 50 Black Hawks with the new cockpit that were purchased by Turkey for $28 million. The contract also includes fitting out eight s-70B Seahawks with the new contract. The features of the new cockpit include multi-function displays and a dual flight management system.
