Keep it plain
Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom press has carried stories on the possible dangers of genetically modified foods, while the science minister, Lord Sainsbury, is interested in genetic research. The government has problems in responding to food scares and the public does not respond well to government assurances that food products are safe. A government pannel has called for a comprehensive strategy on medical and agricultural uses for genetically modified foods. There are claims that the science minister has a conflict of interest due to his stake in a supermarket chain, and he also supports genetic research through a charitable foundation called Gatsby.

The year of the triffids: genetic engineering
Article Abstract:
Environmentalist claims that genetically-engineered foods and plants are not safe are based on assumptions of what could go wrong once they are commonly used. The fears and dangers are exaggerated by the environmentalists, yet some concerns are minimally valid.
