Fire-protecting the business
Article Abstract:
The UK Loss Prevention Council, which represents insurance companies, is placing strong emphasis on including fire protection systems in buildings at the design stage. It is recommending design features which make buildings more secure, as half of serious business fires are the result of arson. It is also looking at measures for structural fire protection, especially in warehouses and storage areas. Furthermore, it has issued recommendations about what to do in the event of a fire and about fire risks in newly completed buildings.
