Knights in shining armour?
Article Abstract:
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has been under pressure since starting air strikes against Yugoslavia to prevent the persecution of those inhabitants of Kosovo, Yugoslavia, who are ethnic Albanians. The persecution has intensified, and NATO is less confident that its actions can bring speedy solutions. Serb president, Slobodan Milosevic, has received more support as a result of the bombings. Eastern European countries seek formal guarantees if they are to become involved in NATO.
