Eastman Kodak Co. posted a 15% drop in its net income for the first quarter of 1999. However, Kodak did see a 6% improvement in sales due to a stronger-than-expected US demand for film. The 6% increase was the first sales improvement for Kodak in more than two years. The company posted $191 million in net income for the quarter ending on March 31, 1999.
