Airtours to let First Choice bid lapse June 24

Airtours PLC announced that it will permit its proposed hostile takeover offer of First Choice Holidays PLC to expire. Airtours has come under a great deal of pressure from a regulatory probe in Europe. The company said that it would hold further talks with the European Commission (EC) and study the possibility of making another offer for First Choice over the next 12-month period.
