LE MERIDIEN SEEKS MANAGEMENT CONTROL OF DELHI FRANCHISE
Article Abstract:
The franchise agreement between Forte and Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts (FLM) and Le Meridien hotel in Delhi, is likely to come to an end. FLM is now demanding for a management control over its flagship property from the promoter of Le Meridien, Mrs Harjeet Kaur. The decision of FLM follows its plans to lift an equity stake and manage all its franchise properties in India. Under the previous agreement, FLM was franchising only its Le Meridien brand. (gs)

DELHI HC RESTRAINS BPL FROM USING `ULTRA'
Article Abstract:
BPL has been restrained from using the name Ultra for its zinc chloride batteries by the Delhi High Court. This order was given in response to the petition of Duracell Inc of the US that it is using the trademark Duracell Ultra worldwide. It pointed out in its complaint that prior to the launch of the product bearing the brand name, Duracell Ultra, it had taken a number of actions to familiarise the consumers and trade about the launch. TVS SPECTRA GETS 50% ST REBATE IN DELHI
Article Abstract:
TVS Spectra has become the first two-wheeler in India to be certified for meeting the year 2000 emission norms by the Automotive Research Association of India. The vehicle is now eligible for a 50 percent sales tax rebate offered by the Delhi government for two wheelers that meet the pollution control norms. This will result in a reduction of Rs1500 in the price of the TVS Spectra in Delhi. (khr)
