Labour's new plutocracy
Article Abstract:
Both paid and unpaid workers are involved in United Kingdom policymaking. Local councillors are paid expenses and allowances rather than a salary, and this has been linked to corruption. Many advisers are not paid salaries, and the system of low payments or lack of pay means that many people cannot afford to carry out work for the government. People who are excluded are often those from ethnic minorities and other groups, whom the government is especially keen to recruit.

Labour turns to the city
Article Abstract:
Brown surprised many with his new plan for financial regulation. Although the plan would help maintain London as a global financial center, it was introduced quickly and with little apparent preparation. The City is cautioned to proceed with the plan only after further and thorough study.

Labour doesn't deserve it
Article Abstract:
UK voters appear to want to oust the Conservative Party after 18 years, but the Conservatives have not done a bad job. The economy is robust and the UK is otherwise doing well. Labour's microeconomic policies are not as good as its macroeconomic policies.
