Le NUS adresse un mauvais bulletin la Belgique
Article Abstract:
According to a study conducted by the National Utility Service (NUS), between April 1997 and April 1998, the price per kWh of electricity in Belgium had risen by 2.36%. This means that Belgium passes from 5th to 4th place in the list of countries where electricity is most expensive. The NUS have accused the Belgian company Electrabel of trying to close the Belgian electricity market to competition. Electrabel proposed to other electricity distribution companies that they joined their shareholders and bought all their electricity until 2006, at which point clients could change their suppliers after giving an advance warning of 4 years. Electrabel is also looking to improve client's fidelity through associating in co-generation projects. The NUS also recommends that the electricity control committee welcomes consumers amongst its members.

The operation, an investment of US$ 250mn for Interbrew, should be carried out in August 1998 through a joint venture agreement between both brewers.
