Leith Robertson: Royal Bank of Scotland
Article Abstract:
Leith Robertson heads the acquisition finance unit at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). RBS has focused on management buyouts and management but-ins, like the majority of acquisition finance units from the City of London. The bank has preferred this activity to leveraged debt and structured refinancings, but has succeeded in a leveraged refinancing deal for Gardner Merchant. Robertson sees the market in mainland Europe as immature, though is interested in cross-border deals.
