Article Abstract:
Relatively few overseas companies offered acquisition bids for public United Kingdom companies during Q2 1997 in comparison to Q1 1997. Five of the total 19 acquirors for the quarter were foreign. The average premium one day and one month before the offers were placed in Q2 was 28% and 28%. International healthcare corporation Transworld Healthcare offered a top foreign bid of 19.8 million pounds sterling for the purchase of healthcare group Omnicare.
