Let me introduce you: the shosha are making it easier to set up in China
Article Abstract:
Japan's large trading companies, called sogo shosha, are helping various international companies develop plants and investments in China. Shosha, such as Mitsui, have helped companies such as General Electric and Asahi beer set up Chinese facilities. The shosha appear to be doing well in China because they have been there a long time and have established connections. They are also known for flexibility and risk-taking. The amount of money the shosha have invested and made in China is unclear, though they have probably not yet made significant profits.
