Liberty Media's net loss widens

Liberty Media Group posted a wider net loss of $543 million (509.3 million euros) for the second-quarter of 1999. During the same period in 1998, the company reported a $155 million net loss. Liberty Media has been hit by increased share compensation program costs. The company said that the previous year losses could not be compared to results that Liberty Media posted when it was a subsidiary of Tele-Communications Inc.
