Lukoil's net surges 58 percent to record

OAO Lukoil of Russia posted record profits, up 58 percent to $2.21 billion for the third quarter, 2005. Revenue rose 66 percent to $16.32 billion and the average price of a Lukoil barrel of oil rose 18 percent to $57.32. The stellar earnings are due to increased production and a surge in international oil prices.

Russian oil firms Yukos, Lukoil post strong earnings

Lukoil and Yukos both posted higher profits for the 2003 first quarter. Yukos posted a rise in profits to $1.27 billion from $462 million. Lukoil posted $820 million in profits, compared to $243 million in the same 2002 period.

First-quarter net profit for OAO Lukoil dropped 23% to hit $1.30 bil, due primarily to higher taxes and lower oil prices. Operating expenses increased by 56% to $1.44 bil, while revenue increased by 4.6% to reach $15.74 bil.
