Private equity: the driver of reorganisation
Article Abstract:
Venture capital can play a key role in the effective reorganisation of a publicly quoted company. This has been seen in the case of the 56 million pounds sterling management buy-in at ASCo, part of the Sidlaw Group. Managers hold a minority equity stake, with the financing being structured half with debt. The rest was provided equally by 3i and Legal and General. Risk capital is helping to boost enterprise in Scotland, where it is being used in a wide range of deals.
