The tourism and travel market in Italy is dominated by domestic tourism sector with expenditure reaching 80.6 trillion lira in 1997. Incoming tourists has increased by 33.3% from 1993 to 1997 due to the low value of lira during the review period. The trend is expected to be sustained because of increasing availability of cheap tour packages and increasing short breaks to Italy from other countries. Domestic tourism also increased by 16.2% also due to more package options as outgoing tourism expenditure increased in 1996 and 1997 following several years of weakness.

The French market for tobacco: distribution: retail: tobacco
Article Abstract:
Retail distribution of tobacco in France is divided among 35,700 retail tobacconists, with Relaish H being the only licensed chain of tobacconists in the country. Tobacconists are allowed to charge an 8% margin on the retail price of tobacco products. Most of these retailers are associated with bars, comprising 54% of tobacconists' number in 1996. Tobacconitss annexed to a bookshop or newsagent activity account for a further 4.% of the number, while only 3% exclusively sell only smoking paraphernalia tobacco.
