Media firm finds a niche in state-owned networks
Article Abstract:
US-based Yellow Line International Inc. has developed a niche market by marketing western films and television programs to state-owned television stations in China and Vietnam. Founded by Chinese immigrant Fu Guoxi in 1992, Yellow Line International has grown into a major media buying company in the two countries. Given the confusing state of the Chinese media industry, Western companies wanting to sell their films and television programs in the country can increase their chances of success by dealing with Yellow Line International, rather than with the individual television stations.
