Article Abstract:
Supreme Court Chief Justice, Bagir Manan along with the Institute of Independent Judiciary (III) have taken the lead in pushing for judicial reforms in Indonesia after government sponsored reform packages ground to a halt. The Chief Justice is making an effort to bring about radical changes in the archaic legal system, but there are many obstacles in the path with the government itself being one of the biggest road-blocks, however, the legal luminary is not demotivated and promises to ensure changes.
