Military security undergirds prosperity in Asia
Article Abstract:
American military intervention in Asia not only preserves its own political and economic interests but also plays a major role in the financial prosperity of the region. The currency crisis in Thailand and its consequent political vulnerability supports this belief. It proved that economic instability or prosperity influences the political and military well-being of countries. Thus, as allies American military forces act to preserve the security and peace in the region. This mission is evident in its position toward the unification of North and South Korea.

Together, U.S. and Hong Kong can find a way out of the crisis and plan a comeback
Article Abstract:
Asia's economic crisis has highlighted the factors affecting Hong Kong's economic situation which are also critical factors to be taken into account when planning for recovery. Local factors include the escalating office rents and housing costs due to the bursting of the real estate market bubble. Hong Kong's major regional role in East Asia also made it subject to the perils of the Asian crisis. A greater transparency and openness to its international economic system is another major factor that should be considered in recovery planning.
