Modeling and solving a real-life assignment problem at universities
Article Abstract:
A model and a solution technique were proposed for a real-life problem of assigning students to exam during an examination period. The model developed treats the assignment problem as an optimization problem over the set of maximal cliques of a specially structured weighted graph. A solution technique utilizing a combination of special-purpose heuristic and Tabu search was able to derive enhanced structured cliques upon its implementation on a practical assignment problem involving Belgrade Law School.

Performance assessment in higher education inn Britain
Article Abstract:
A process for evaluating the performance of UK universities is developed. Production theory and multiple regression methods are used to determine the relationships between the inputs and outputs of universities. Approximately 80% of the output measures are related to corresponding changes in input measures. Therefore, there is a need to consider the inputs present in a university when contrasting its output performance with other universities.
