Carnival makes bid for P&O Princess to stop rival's deal

Carnival Corp. has made an unsolicited offer to buy P and O Princess Cruises PLC in a deal valued at 5.15 billion euros. The bid, which has been rejected by P and O, was intended to block a rival offer from Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
