NOCIL DIVIDEND SLASHED FROM 25% TO 10%
Article Abstract:
National Organic Chemical Industries Ltd has reduced its dividend to 10 percent for 1997-98 against 25 percent paid in 1996-97. Its net profit has declined by 36 percent to Rs38 crore in 1997-98 against Rs60 crore in 1996-97 while net sales fell by 6.3 percent to Rs1100 crore from Rs1174 crore. The company says that the decline in sales was due to lower sales volumes of its petrochemical and polymer divisions. Its profits have been affected due to a fall in prices as a result of the South East Asian crisis. (khr)
