New GBA gyroplane plan
Article Abstract:
Groen Bros Aviation is reconfiguring a Cessna 337 Skymaster airframe into a gyroplane, designated the Hawk 6G and powered by a single Rolls-Royce 250 turboprop engine installed in the nose. The previous fore and aft piston engines and the wings outboard of the boom will be removed, while the twin tail units will be inverted to provide clearance for the rotor system. The company plans to fly the Hawk 6G in early Jan 2001 and hopes it can carry a pilot and 545 kg of baggage, or up to six people and 320 kg of freight.
