New autos drive up Renault's '98 sales

Renault SA posted improved motor vehicle sales for the 1998 year due to several successful products. Some of the car maker's lucrative products turned out to be a new compact automobile, a small minivan, and a new light utility truck. In 1998, Renault posted a 11% increase in Western European market share from 10% in 1997. The company sold 2,128,000 cars and light utility vehicles around the world in 1998. This was a 16% rise compared to 1997.
