New heating plant
Article Abstract:
Sko-Energo (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), power firm, has commissioned a new power source in Mlada Boleslav. The source has a total electrical output of 70 MW and a thermal output of 140 MW. The main supplier of the technology was Siemens (Germany), division Power Production (KWU). Domestic firms also participated in the project. Electric power and a part of heat production from the source is taken by the car company Skoda Auto (SA) (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic). The rest of the source's heat production is supplied to the citizens of the town. Sko-Energo's shareholders are SA, Stredoceska energeticka (Prague, Czech Republic), RWE Energie (Germany), Energieversorgung Ostbayern (Germany) and VW Kraftwerk (Germany).

SA will build engine plant
Article Abstract:
Skoda Auto (SA) (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), car company, should start the production of engines and gearboxes at a new engine plant by the end of 2001. The firm should invest a total of more than 560 mil USD in the plant's construction. The European Commission has agreed net incentives worth 21.98 mil USD for the investment project. The incentives will include a tax holiday and duty-free technology imports. SA demanded incentives worth 120 mil USD for the project originally.
