New way to track fish
Article Abstract:
A new method of tracking fish and studying their migratory patterns is developed by Simrad of Norway and StarOddi of Iceland, with the help of Norwegian and Icelandic Research Councils. The method uses GPS and sonar technology. The efficacy of the technology and the technical details thereof are discussed.

Multi-beam sounder's 'giant research step'
Article Abstract:
A new multi-beam echo sounder for fisheries research has been developed by French research institute Ifremer along with Norway based Simrad. The sounder is named ME70 and it helps in assessing the fish stock. Other relevant information on the equipment is also presented.
