Novartis's net profit rises 13%, driven by a 19% sales increase

Novartis AG of Switzerland posted net profit increases of 13 percent or $1.67 billion in the third quarter, up from $1.47 billion last year. Sales increased 19 percent to $8.42 billion. The increases were driven by growth in sales and a decrease in marketing spend.
