OPEC may cut production as world economy sputters

The oil ministers of OPEC are now considering the necessity of reducing their output to increase oil prices. The ministers began preparing for cuts they will have to make soon to keep prices around their target of $25 (Euro29.54) a barrel after Iraq starts exports again after a month-long halt.

West's energy watchdog reaches truce with OPEC

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has reached an oil supply agreement with the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. The IEA has agreed to only use its oil stocks as a last resort. OPEC agreed to continue supplying the world with sufficient stocks of oil.
