Oil downgrade: PetroChina find loses its sheen
Article Abstract:
The Nanpu oil discovery made by PetroChina Company Ltd. has been certified by the Ministry of Land and Resources as having only half of the recoverable oil reserves than the figure analysts had calculated. While the Nanpu block has 445 mil tons of proven reserves, the recoverable reserves, the amount believed possible to bring to the surface, is estimated to be only 86.6 mil tons, or 632 mil barrels. Original estimates placed recoverables at 1.2 bil barrels.
