Cossette builds war chest with IPO

Cossette Communications Group (CCG), Canada's leading marketing services firm, filed a preliminary prospectus for an initial public offering on May 3, 1999. The Quebec City-based company is going public to raise between C$35 million and C$40 million for expansion in the country and the US. CCG plans to expand in regions where it has no presence. Among the businesses Cossette operates include advertising, promotions, public relations, graphic design, branding and research.

Saffer is sold to Euro RSCG network
Article Abstract:
Sharpe Blackmore, the Toronto, Ontario-based affiliate of Euro RSCG of New York, has purchased Saffer Group, which has been seeking a partner to complement its retail advertising capabilities. The new company, called Sharpe Blackmore Saffer Euro RSCG, is led by Chairman Bill Sharpe, President Tom Blackmore and COO John Auriemma and has 55 employees. Although Saffer rebounded after filing for creditor protection, it has lost its hold of several contracts.
