One-dimensional machine location problems in a multi-product flowline with equidistant locations
Article Abstract:
Multi-Pass Heuristic, Depth-first Insertion Heuristic and Lower Bound solve problems of assigning large machines in even-spaced locations along a multi-product flowline. The heuristics and the lower bound are formulated from the amoebic properties of the backtracking and bi-directional distance matrices. MPH works as a construction algorithm towards creating a starting DIH solution and then followed by an optimal LB solution.

An assembly-type supply chain system controlled by kanbans under a just-in-time delivery policy
Article Abstract:
The assembly-type supply chain system is modeled as mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem (MINLP) and controlled using kanban chain mechanism. The problem is divided into small problems and each small problem is solved using branch-and-bound technique.
