One-stop shopping for dinner
Article Abstract:
Working parents and students living on their own have made home meal replacements (HMRs) popular food items in Canada. HMRs are frozen or fresh meal preparations done in-store for immediate consumption at home. Food manufacturers and retailers are starting to cater to consumer demands for a more convenient and effective solution for mealtime. On the other hand, consumers are turning to supermarkets and convenience stores for HMR products such as bagged salads, frozen lasagnas, homestyle soups and freshly-prepared entrees and sandwiches.
