Out of Africa: CFA-franc zone
Article Abstract:
The 50% devaluation of the CFA franc in Jan 1994 did not cause soaring inflation in the CFA zone's 14 member countries, and inflation rates are coming under control. Farm prices, farm production and exports are rising. Economic conditions are better in the western than in the central zone.

A dying industry? The wrongs and rights of aid
Article Abstract:
Some have called foreign aid, particularly aid to African nations, a dying industry, although relief efforts continue in the time of disasters such as the 1992 drought. The World Bank has made an effort to economically restructure Africa, but problems such as tribalism interfere.
