CALL CLOSES IN OVER-7 RANGE
Article Abstract:
Call rates opened at 7.6-7.9 percent and closed between 7.4 percent and 7.6 percent in the inter-bank call money market on March 23, 1999. The easing of call rates is attributed to the additional rupee inflows from the State Bank of India which was acquiring dollars from the market on behalf of the Reserve Bank of India to stop the rupee from depreciating.
