Peace now: Latin American borders

Border disputes linger on in Central and South America, but for the most part common sense keeps them civil. Argentina and the UK both claim sovereignty over the Falkland Islands, but have negotiated oil and fishery agreements. Argentina/Chile, Peru/Ecuador and other disputes are discussed.

A warning from the Andes: nationalism is still potent in Latin America

Latin American governments are reaching out to achieve international economic integration, but the region remains somewhat unstable politically. A recent border dispute between Ecuador and Peru is one among many. Leaders must come to agreements on borders.
