Performance enhancements to tabu search for the early/tardy scheduling problem
Article Abstract:
Three techniques are investigated to determine whether they can enhance the performance of tabu search (TS) in solving early/tardy scheduling problems. The three strategies, which used a combination of two previously published candidate selection strategies, included an extra diversification phase in the search and used a composite TS method that utilized two different solution spaces, all demonstrated an ability to enhance TS performance by at least 5%.
