Pernod says it may seek new buyer for Orangina
Article Abstract:
Pernod-Ricard SA, a manufacturer of non-alcoholic beverages headquartered in France, is considering plans to conduct negotiations with other interested parties in connection with the sale of its Orangina orange soft-drink brand. The firm, however, maintains that such negotiations are likely to take place only after the end of 1998, and only if Coca-Cola Co., a beverage firm based in the US, fails to come up with an attractive offer. The company, which is expected to post a 3% decline in net profit in its fiscal 1998, hopes to generate five billion French francs for the Orangina soft-drink line.
