Pete Wilson's medicine: welfare in California

Wilson submitted a welfare reform program to the California legislature on Jan 9, 1997. The program is designed to move 750,000 welfare recipients into employment out of a total caseload of 2,593,576. In some respects, Wilson's welfare reform plan is harsher than the new federal program.
