PetroChina domestic IPO gets approval

PetroChina Co. has obtained approval from the china Securities Regulatory Commission for an initial public offering on the domestic market that may raise over $7 bil. PetroChina, the nation's biggest listed gas and oil producer by capacity is allowed to sell up to four bil Class A shares, 2.18% of the firm's enlarged capital, with a total value of $7.36 bil.

PetroChina clears IPO hurdle and shares rise
