Petronas strikes gold

Malaysia's largest national oil company, Petroliam Nasional Bhd. topped the Malaysian list of Review 200. Petronas' return on net revenue of 33% in 2002, which was among the highest in the global oil industry, its transformation over a decade, and its effective and efficient management are the things that keeps it apart from the rest of the state owned companies.

Woodside will sell assets in Mauritania to Petronas
Article Abstract:
Australia's Woodside Petroleum Ltd. has sold its assets in Mauritania to Malaysian firm Petroliam Nasional Bhd. for $418 mil, and indicated that additional African-based assets may also go up for sale. These assets include its 15% stake in Algeria's Ohanet gas project and 60,000 sq km of Libyan offshore and onshore exploration ground.
