Phased multicriteria preference finding

Article Abstract:

A combination of theoretical studies on the functioning of the mind in multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) is examined. Simple multiattribute rating technique (SMART), multiattribute utility theory (MAUT) and the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) are the standard methods that are associated with attribute, utility and relative measurement. Revised utility tests and relative MCDM methods are reviewed. It is noted that decision-makers (DMs) are likely to use screening, ordering and choosing phases in natural decision process among alternatives.
