Jihoceska Plynarenska introduces gas
Article Abstract:
Jihoceska plynarenska (JCP) (Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic), natural gas distributor, invested a total of CEK 2.222 bil during 1994-2000. The firm increased the number of municipalities with introduced gas from 54 to 196 municipalities in the region of its operation during the same period. According to a report from the firm's management, JCP has introduced gas in all the places, where its investments can be expected to be recovered in at least 15-20 years.

Prazska plynarenska (PP) (Prague, Czech Republic), gas company, decreased its gas sales by 5% in 1997 compared to 1996. A reason for the drop was the warm winter in 1997. PP's profit decreased by nearly 12% to 72 mil Kc in 1997 compared to 1996. The firm invested 537 mil Kc in the construction of new gas pipelines, the modernisation of its current networks and the reconstruction of the regulation station in Treboradice, Czech Republic, in 1997.

Prazska plynarenska (Prague, Czech Republic), natural gas distributor, expects its pre-tax profit to decrease to CEK 30 mil in 2001 compared to CEK 243.2 mil in 2000. The reason for the drop is the regulation of natural-gas purchasing and selling prices. The company has overdue receivables of CEK 340 mil. It is claiming debts in 20,000 court cases. It claimed CEK 30 mil in 16,000 court cases in 2000.
