RAJ TV's SECOND TAMIL CHANNEL TO GO AIR TODAY

Raj Television Network's (RTN) second Tamil channel, Raj Plus, will go on on air on Sunday March 14, 1999. RTN owns the Tamil channel, Raj TV. Raj TV is on the air for over three and half years. The Raj Plus channel would be a 24-hour channel for young adults and would beam a mix of programmes to make it a new entertainment channel. Raj TV is claimed to have 100 percent penetration in Tamil Nadu and 70 percent in other southern states. Raj Plus would reflect the evolving entertainment scene in Tamil, English, and Hindi. It would beam round-the-clock music, movies, movie-based programmes, and music countdown shows. (vsm)

It will beam news breaks and market developments as they occur along with interviews and reactions. Television Eighteen India Ltd, which holds CNBC's franchise for India, says that live telecast will commence as soon as the Bangala Sahib extension uplink facility in Delhi of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd starts operations.
