Rallying cries
Article Abstract:
Stock prices have revived since Oct 1998, and have reached levels close to their peak in summer 1998, prior to a number of events that hit market such as the Russian debt crisis. Optimism has increased for a number of reasons such as the reduction of dangers from Brazilian financial markets, and a drop in US interest rates. Not all sectors have seen stock price rises, and prices could still fall again after a rebound. Interest rate trends will affect stock prices, but cuts in rates could foster a bubble.
