Recent cases in European law
Article Abstract:
The European Court of Justice's recent decisions have demonstrated firmness in what the Court regards as significant matters, and yet a reluctance to meddle in national decisions on less important issues. One of the Court's most significant rulings has been to increase the scope but reduce the severity of member countries' obligation to compensate firms and individuals for losses resulting from state infringements of EU regulations.
