Recipes for an AIDS vaccine
Article Abstract:
Vaccines allow the body to respond more effectively by giving an advance small dosage of the disease. There have been trials of five types of AIDs vaccine. Pseudovirions, 'naked DNA', and the usage of protein fragments are all seen as possible ways of creating a vaccine. Researchers face an ethical dilemma is using attenuated or killed strains of HIV due to the volatility of the HIV virus, which could mutate, creating an unattenuated strain or a live virus.
