Political reformer Mario Segni has succeeded in putting two more electoral reform referendums on the Italian ballot. Segni hopes that Italy's notoriously unstable political process can be improved by their adoption, resulting in clear majorities and accountable candidates.

Article Abstract:
The Italian and Japanese political systems have much in common, partially as a result of being on the losing side in World War II. Japan would be wise to follow Italy's example and aggressively attack the widespread problem of political corruption.
